“The way of the feet and hands.”

Taekwondo philosophy is based on the concept of Yin and Yang which symbolizes the interaction of opposing forces in nature. Harmony and balance are achieved when these opposing forces are distributed equally. When balance is not achieved, there is disorder or failure.

Respect, humility, and healthy moral standards are also major concepts at the heart of taekwondo.

Taekwondo is not only a martial art but also a well developed and easily accessible sport. Beyond Learning self-defence techniques, practicing adults will build, maintain or regain physical fitness by increasing physical ability, flexibility and endurance.

For children, the many benefits of taekwondo are well recognized. Guided by Instructor Alanna Perron and our qualified Leaders, children acquire discipline, focus, self-respect as well as respect for others and their environment. Through our dragons classes (ages 7-12) children will also learn valuable Life Skills such as how to effectively deal with Bullying. It is not unusual to observe improvements in academic performance as well.
